The ATM is currently under repairs
Yes, you are reading it right, NYC has got it’s very one and first of its kind cupcake machine. It operates 24/7, and provides a sweet and fresh dessert in the wee hours of the morning when all other bakeries/ coffee/ anything that is not 24/7 MacDonald’s actually… are already closed.
The ATM can accommodate up to 760 cakes at any given time with 20 different flavors. The Cupcake ATM works just like a regular ATM, you choose the product and pay by credit card/ cash. The ATM also offers crisp cookies in a number of flavors.
The ATM is located between the cupcakes shop and the ice cream shop of the same chain "Sprinkles Cupcakes". Each cupcake costs around 4.50$ and occasionally you can buy mini-cupcakes for a dog. Yes, yes, you are still reading it right, dog cupcakes. The ATM is re-filled between two and three times a day to keep the cakes fresh.
Of course, if you arrive during the day, I would advise that you visit the actual cupcake shop of the chain attached to the ATM itself. I'll share a secret with you, I'm not a cupcake fan. I ate cupcakes in many places in the world and every time I tried it, I found that it was too dry, the cream was disintegrated and broken, like a have a clogged throat. But this cupcake is different, it is "heavy" in its sense, but it is juicy, fresh and delicious.
The world's first cupcakes ATM opened in Beverly Hills in 2012 and since then, more ATMs are popping up in large cities like; Chicago, Dallas and Atlanta.
And now the bottom line:
When you visit New York you can find a lot of bakeries and pastries that sell cupcakes, you need to know where to buy so you make sure you taste a good cupcakes. Those cupcakes are among the best in the city. DO NOT miss it. Because being in New York and not eating cupcakes is like visiting Paris without having a Croissant or visiting London and not having Fish & Chips. It’s an American tradition and you NEED to try it at least once.
